MPL monitors and controls our entire pipeline network 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from pipeline operations centers in Findlay, Ohio and San Antonio, Texas. Highly trained pipeline controllers, high-speed computers, constantly evolving technology, and satellite communications enable us to safely operate our pipeline systems.
Pipeline Safety Regulation
MPL devotes significant resources to meet or exceed regulatory requirements. Our controllers maintain compliance with the federal Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) Control Room Management Regulation.

Training
Pipeline Controller Training
Controllers monitor and maintain safe and reliable pipeline operations in accordance with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements. We invest in robust training to reinforce operational integrity.
Required Training
Controllers receive six months of comprehensive training and testing before they can operate pipeline systems independently.
SCADA
After completing all training requirements, Controllers utilize a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) operating system to control and monitor pipeline systems across the U.S.
CPM Leak Detection
Controllers also operate a Computational Pipeline Monitoring (CPM) detection system to monitor pipeline system integrity.
