Dig Safe Together

We invite excavators and contractors to partner with us to help protect the safety of our pipelines, community and environment through safe digging practices. Engaging an MPL representative early in the project planning process can also prevent costly delays.

Excavators and Contractors

It is your responsibility to:

  • Call 811.com or submit an online request at call811.com three working days before you perform any soil-disturbing practices.
  • Wait for all utilities to be marked with paint or flags.
  • Dig safely.

Pipeline Operator

At MPL, we are committed to:

  • Respond to 811 requests within 48 business hours.
  • Accurately locate and mark our pipelines.
  • Be on site when excavation is within 50 feet of our pipeline.

No Dig is Too Small

Think you know what's underground? Think again! Even if you've dug here before, shifting soil, erosion and other factors can change the depth and location of underground utilities. Pipelines can be buried less than 18 inches below the surface. Never assume the depth or location of a pipeline.  Call 811 or submit an online request at Call 811.com.
