Giving Back to the Places We Call Home
At Marathon Pipe Line LLC (MPL), we're passionate about protecting our communities and helping make people's lives better.
Fueling a Safer Tomorrow
Protecting the public and earning their trust is at the heart of our mission. We do this by supporting charitable organizations and emergency responders, encouraging our employees to volunteer their time and talents, and teaching pipeline safety.
Charitable Giving
We focus on contributions and partnerships with 501(c)(3) non-profit and government-related organizations that reflect the priorities of our community stakeholders and align with our mission. Preference is given to communities where MPL has an operational presence.
How to Apply for a Grant
While grant proposals are accepted by invitation only, we encourage organizations aligned with our mission to reach out and share their vision. If selected, you'll be contacted with further instructions.
We strategically focus on three core areas where the grant can make a positive, measurable impact: Workforce Development, Sustainability, and Thriving Communities.

Emergency Official Grants
We offer grant funding to emergency officials near the pipelines we operate. Emergency response teams can use grants to attend training sessions or acquire new emergency response equipment.

Employee Giving and Volunteerism
Our employees are passionate about giving their time, treasure, and talents to support their communities. It’s part of our culture and how we live out our guiding principles. To support their efforts, we offer a 100% match on donations to eligible organizations and provide volunteer incentive awards, encouraging employees to contribute to the causes they care about most.
Safe Digging Sponsorships
We're proud to support public events that educate and raise awareness about safe digging practices. If you're organizing a community event near our assets and would like a sponsor committed to pipeline safety, we’d love to hear from you. Contact us to explore sponsorship opportunities and help us spread the message — Always contact 811 before you dig!
