Greg Amburgey

Vice President, Operations

Mr. Amburgey is vice president of operations for Marathon Pipe Line LLC (MPL).

Mr. Amburgey joined Marathon Petroleum Company in 1992 as a contracted engineer in Findlay, Ohio, and was hired to a full-time position in 1995. In 1996, he was appointed engineering and construction manager for Speedway, where he held various leadership positions. In 2005, Mr. Amburgey was promoted to Engineering Manager at the Canton refinery and subsequently at the Robinson refinery. In 2013, he joined MPL as the regional manager of pipeline operations. In 2019, he was appointed Director of Logistics and Storage Support Services for Marathon Petroleum Company. In 2022, he was named Vice President of Logistics and Engineering. He assumed his current position in 2024.

Mr. Amburgey graduated from Ohio Northern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering in 1992.  He graduated from George Washington University with a Master of Project Management in 2007.

Mr. Amburgey is a member of the American Petroleum Institute (API), Liquid Energy Pipeline Association (LEPA), and the API-LEPA Performance Excellence Team.
