COVID-19 RESPONSE – A Letter to Our Neighbors Living and Working Along Our Pipelines
Dear Neighbor,
As the impact of the COVID-19 continues to evolve, Marathon Pipe Line continues to remain focused on the health and safety of our employees and communities where we operate. We are heeding all guidance set forth by the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. With the proper precautions in place, our employees are still hard at work, carrying out our mission to safely and reliably operate our pipelines.
Being guardians of public safety is a cornerstone of Marathon Pipe Line’s culture, and this pandemic does not alter that commitment. We continue to follow our routine protocols for managing pipeline integrity – using computer monitoring 24 hours a day from our operations centers, conducting visual inspections of our entire pipeline network, and promptly responding to 811 locate requests.
During this time, I’m also asking for your help to protect our pipelines and the community. If you are planning a digging project, such as installing a fence, building a deck, or planting trees, please remember to call 811 several days before starting your project. Trained technicians will come to your property to locate and mark the pipeline and your other underground utilities for free. Calling 811 helps protect you and your community from potential injury and the underground utilities from possible damage.
Thank you for being our partner in protecting the safety of the public, your community, and the environment. We look forward to working together while earning and maintaining your trust.
Stay healthy and stay safe!
