Transportation of Crude Oil on MPL

MPL operates crude pipeline systems located throughout the Midwest, Louisiana and Wyoming.  These systems carry both heavy and light sweet crudes from production fields, other pipeline companies and river barges to various locations.  In addition to crude pipelines, MPL owns and operates four crude tank farms that are located in Wood River, Ill., Patoka, Ill., Martinsville, Ill. and Lebanon, Ind.

MPL is a common carrier engaged primarily in the transportation of crude petroleum based on tariff rates that are filed and governed through the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for each pipeline system.  MPL requires crude oil to meet quality specifications as outlined in our tariff rules and regulations.  The crude petroleum tendered for transportation is based upon characteristics as identified in our crude database link.
